What is the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)?
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), funded through the Older Americans' Act, is available to eligible persons 55 years of age and older and provides work assignments in part-time positions with nonprofits and government agencies that assist the community. This is a work experience program designed to upgrade job skills through on-the-job training and eventual placement in the competitive labor force.

Service Options Using Resources in a Community Environment (SOURCE) creates a caring network for at-risk individuals who need supportive assistance to remain in their own homes or communities. This alternative to nursing home placement provides comprehensive, preventative medical support with in-home and community services.
A case manager works with the client to develop a care plan from services such as:
Daytime care and supervision in an adult day health center
Emergency response services
Personal support service or extended personal support service
(for assistance with bathing, light housekeeping, shopping, laundry and meal preparation, in home respite)
Home-delivered meals
Skilled nursing
Meals, personal care and supervision in an approved personal care home
Qualifications - All SOURCE enrollees must:
Have SSI Medicaid or Public Law Medicaid
Be 65 or older, with a chronic medical condition OR under 65 and disabled
Meet the medical and functional criteria for placement in a nursing home

COMMUNITY CARE SERVICES PROGRAM (CCSP)
The Community Care Services Program (CCSP) is a Medicaid waiver program designed to provide home and community based services to older adults or individuals with disabilities who are impaired in their activities of daily living due to a physical limitation. The program helps eligible recipients remain in their own homes, the homes of caregivers, or in personal care homes as long as possible.
A care coordinator works with the client to develop a care plan from:
Daytime care and supervision in an adult day health center
Emergency response services
Personal support service
(for assistance with bathing, light housekeeping, shopping, laundry, meal preparation and in home respite)
Home delivered meals
Home health services
Meals, personal care and supervision in an approved personal care home
Consumer Directed Care
Qualifications - All CCSP enrollees must:
Meet the medical and functional criteria for placement in a nursing facility
Are eligible or potentially eligible for Medicaid
Have health and personal needs that can be met safely in the community and within established cost limits
Individuals may be expected to pay a portion of service cost, based on the applicant's financial situation.

ELDERLY LEGAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Provides adults age 60+ with legal representation, information and education in civil legal matters.
ELAP provides persons age 60+ with legal representation, information and education in civil legal matters throughout the state of Georgia. It is required by federal law and funded primarily by the federal Older Americans Act.
Program services include:
The program does not base eligibility on a person's income or resources; however, federal law requires that the program direct services to those persons 60 years of age and older who are in the greatest social and/or economic need, limited English speaking persons, rural or low income minorities.
For low income persons younger than age 60 meeting certain income and resource requirements, these organizations provide free and reduced fee legal assistance.
The Division of Aging Services (DAS) administers the ELAP program through the Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs). Contact your local AAA for more information.
